We are honored to be recognized by the European Protected Areas Network for sustainable tourism, contributing to the biodiversity and cultural heritage of Lahemaa National Park.
How do we operate sustainably?
100% Local Ingredients – All our wines are made exclusively from Estonian berries and fruits, sourced from local growers and our own garden. This reduces our transportation footprint and supports local farmers.
Solar Energy Usage – Our wine production is powered by 15 kW solar panels, a hybrid inverter, and a battery bank, covering up to 70% of our annual energy consumption. During darker months, energy use is optimized based on market electricity prices.
♻️ Bottle Reuse – We are the first winery in Estonia to wash and reuse wine bottles on-site. If you purchase wine from us, you can return the empty bottle, giving it a new life!
Zero-Waste Principle –
- Wine press residues are composted or fermented again to produce distillates and other products.
- Reusable glassware and tableware are used for tastings – we do not use disposable plastic utensils.
- Food waste is minimized by preparing meals in exact pre-ordered quantities. Any surplus is turned into pâté, spreads, or other delicacies.
Protecting Nature & Biodiversity –
- We limit lawn mowing to support natural biodiversity.
- We educate visitors about the importance of riverbank conservation areas and otter habitats.
Smart Water Management –
- Dual-flush toilets help reduce water consumption.
- Rainwater is collected for watering greenhouses and garden beds.
- We use eco-friendly cleaning products and biodegradable solutions. In our winery, we avoid chemical disinfectants, relying mainly on hot water for sanitation.
How to Get Here?
- Public transport is recommended! You can reach us by bus from Tallinn or Rakvere, then walk or take our retro-style bus from nearby stops directly to the winery.
- If you are driving, an electric vehicle charging station is available on-site.
